A Quick Look at Las Vegas |
Located in the middle of the desert, Las Vegas is a particularly
unique place; a thriving city in the middle of nowhere, complete
with its bright lights,
towering world class casinos and extremely exciting nightlife.
Contrasting spectacularly with the barren wasteland around it, this
city will make for an
unforgettable holiday for those who want to have fun and also for
those who don’t mind spending a lot of money.
The vast majority of the activities in Las Vegas aimed towards
tourists are all about having fun. While Las Vegas is most well
known for its gambling scene,
there is a lot more to this city than that. It has an extremely
impressive selection of world class restaurants, classy cocktail
bars and a wide variety of
nightclubs with something to suit every taste. The place is rather
mind boggling; its buildings and casinos out of this world,
everything big and glitzy and
full of glamour.
However, if you want to take a break from the neon lights and the
often high prices of Las Vegas, there are plenty of other sites to
see in the area. Only
30 minutes away by car, is the Hoover Dam, a spectacular sight to
tour. The Red Rock Canyon is also not to be missed; an enormous
stone cross-bedding in
Nevada.
Many people decide against going on a holiday to Las Vegas because
they’re worried about spending too much money. However, while of
course, Las Vegas is a
place where you can easily spend everything you have, there are also
plenty of cheap or even three entertainment options available. Many
of the gambling
establishments offer their guests free drinks if they take part in
any gambling. There are also recreational activities that are more
family orientated, and
if you take children to Las Vegas, you can also be sure that they
will be well accommodated.
There are plenty of parks, public libraries and various recreational
opportunities in the city. In fact, the activities available for
children and families
are endless. There are also theme parks and many great rides with
something to suit a wide variety of tastes. Owned by the MGM Grand
Casino, there is even
a lion habitat, a particularly impressive habitat of real life
lions. They are on display throughout the day, and you can walk
around the glass enclosed
habitat and watch the animals to your heart’s content. Another place
that should definitely be visited on a family holiday is the Madame Tussaud’s Las Vegas
wax museum, a fascinating collection of lifelike wax sculptures of
various celebrities and other well known people.
If you are planning to go to Las Vegas on a gambling holiday, as
many people do, make sure you have a predefined budget and stick to
it rigidly. You may
also be interested in taking part in some gaming classes which are
available at the Las Vegas Hilton hotel amongst other places. Taking
classes helps to
increase your chances of winning games, and also presents a good
opportunity to meet other people.
